Fortunately the mist lifted in the afternoon so we decided to go on a hike to Dark Hollows Falls.

There were several senior citizens and families with small children at the start so we figured it probably wasn't going to be too strenuous.

The trail wound down through the forest for about half an hour to the falls

Unfotunately the trail back was all uphill through the forest, and the old folks, previously so cocky at the start, were now red faced and gasping for air in the rarified mountain atmosphere, while we strode purposefully on without even giving a sideways glance in their direction.
